Rod Hiley started in the MG business under the name Abingdon Spares in 1960. Later, the name Abingdon Motors reflected Rod's expansion from parts into workshops, panel and coachwork, paint and trim

Today MG City embraces all the above plus restorations, competition car preparation and sales of used MGs and a limited selection of other quality cars and more

Rod Hiley was 17 when he bought his first MG TC. He has owned one, and usually many other models at the same time, ever since.

Rod's personal MGs have included the 18/80, J3, K3s and TAs, NE, TB and Tickford TB, Y Tourer and 'too many to count' from Y, TC, TD, TF, MGA and Twin Cam, MGB, MGC GT to MGB GT V8.

He has raced, rallied and hill-climbed MGs for more than four decades. He's stripped them, rebuilt them, made them go faster, straightened and painted them - for himself, and hosts of repeat MG City customers

MG City customers habitually become friends with the dedicated MG City team.
